Founded in Shanghai in 2014, KUHLKLAR ECOLOGY combines limnological science with ecological engineering.

Our name draws on the German words Kühl and Klar: the freshness of a cool spring and the clarity of pure water. That idea guides a practice focused on restoring a waterbody’s own ecological resilience.

We work across drinking water reservoirs, urban rivers, wetlands, sediments and aquatic food webs — connecting diagnosis, pilot testing, specialist design, ecological construction and ongoing stewardship.

The corporate profile describes a jointly established Ecological Environment Research Center with a National Class-A Architectural & Engineering Design Institute.

The collaboration connects field and pilot parameters to specialist construction drawings, bills of quantities and operating manuals.
